What is a Business Analyst (BA)?
A business analyst is someone who analyzes an organization or businessdomain (real or hypothetical) and documents its business or processes or systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology.
Are Business Analysts expensive?
The simple answer is no as value is the key, there are two methods we deploy the skills of a Business Analyst (BA).
Method 1: Initial pre-development stage
Part of the development process is to brainstorm, design and plan the business once its up and running. Once you have finished the brainstorming stage and are quite confident of your business plan we allow a BA to understand what departmental/functional areas would need any particular software. The software design will be in sync with your business requirements with programmed and unprogrammed actions*.

Method 2: Project manager as business analyst 
If you have a business plan and are ready to get started building your project we can deploy a project manager skilled with Business Analytical skills to oversee the project. Although this may cost extra, we see value as along the way if you need your project to change or adapt to external factors your BA project Manager can analyse the changes and continue the modified build.
At the time of this article, the fee per hour of a Business Analyst is $80 per hour. We drastically reduce this rate as part of the project/services bundle.
What are programmed and in-programmed decisions?

Firstly “programmed” in this context has nothing to do with coding, software, and computing. 

Programmed Decisions are actions that you or your staff take. An example of this is when the telephone rings a programmed response would be to answer the phone as:
“Good morning thank you for calling Delcorp Data how can we help?”

The above example is anticipated and easy to understand

 

Unprogrammed decisions: would be one of uncertainty that top level management deal with such as the following example:
There is an offer from our larger competitor that would be interested to buy the business.
This is complex decision that takes time, expertise such as financial, legal implications and an example of this could be quite complex.

Is a Business Analyst optional?
Yes, you can decide to exclude a BA’s involvement.
At a bare minimum, we do expect you to conduct a business canvass session with your consultant which will only take an hour.
